- Do pool filters have a minimum pressure ratings?
Now here’s your hosts – Matt and Rob.
In my opinion, choosing a filter system is a big consideration when getting an above ground pool. The filter system is what you’ll be working with the most as it’s the main component responsible for taking care of the pool. Of course getting quality products and acquiring the correct size pump and filter for the pool are important, but for the sake of this blog post I’m going to focus on the types of filter systems you can get.
Most of the time above ground pool filter systems come in a pack. It’ll come in one big box and have the pump, filter, base or pad, and any fittings needed for assembly and hoses for attachment to the pool. Here we go then. (more…)
Can I build my own pool? Yes, you can! Subcontracting the build of your own swimming pool is not rocket science. At INYOpools.com, we have seen a huge trend in homeowners building their own swimming pools. When most people think of building their own pool, they think that they would be like the professional pool contractor out digging the hole for the pool, doing the plumbing and electrical, etc.- but this is not the case. Most pool contractors do not do the actual labor of building the pool themselves. Pool builders act as general contractors (GC) and subcontract the building of the pool to various subcontractors (subs), so when you purchase a pool from your local pool company, they are organizing the build of your pool through subs.
The cool thing about a swimming pool is they all work in the same manner. No matter the size, shape, or added features, they all use a combination of filtration and chemical treatment to consistently keep the water clean and healthy. But really, how does a swimming pool work?
As a new pool owner, you might not have a handle of the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’ of your pool yet, and that is okay.
