Product Description

Fiber Optic 9-Color Illuminator W/ LED Bulb & Wireless Remote

The ION-8000 Fiber Optic Illminator is most commonly used to light fiber-optic swimming pool lighting. The feature which makes the ION-8000 so unique is that it uses an LED bulb unlike Metal Halide or Halogen bulbs used in almost all other illuminators. The ION-8000 is a direct replacement for popular illuminators like the Fiberstars 6000, 6004, 6008, 2004 & 2008 as well as the Supervision SV150T, SV150T6 & SV25 series.

The benfits of LED include much longer lamp life, brighter light output and lower operational costs. The ION-8000 can handle up 1,000 strands of fiber where it's competition has a maximum strand capacity of 450 strands. Finally, the ION-8000 is a very compact unit meaning that it is about half the size of the Fiberstars & SuperVision Illuminators.

Includes:

  • 9-Color Illuminator W/ LED Bulb
  • Power Supply
  • Handheld Remote (1 Zone)
  • Wireless Receiver

Can I use Super Vision Fiber optic cable with a Fiberstars illuminator?

Both companies' cable will work with either the Fiberstars or Super Vision illuminator. You will need to make sure that you have the proper perimeter track in your pool to accommodate the appropriate cable.

We are building a wall close to the pool and thinking of a waterfall. Where does everything go? Can the pool pump be used instead of a dedicated pump? How far can the illuminator be from the waterfall? How far from the wall to where the water hits the pool? In other words, how close does the waterfall have to be to the pool?

The illuminator and pump can be placed where your exisiting pool pump and filter is located. The further the distance away from your pool, the more more fiber and a higher HP pump you will need. We recommend purchasing an additional pump for a waterfall. If you use the same pump, the waterfall will take away from the existing water circulation and your pool will not be properly filtered. I have 3 fiberstar 6008 installed, none working anymore, about 20 years old. 1 For pool(2 lights), 1 for spa, and 1 for waterfalls (2 lights). All hooked up the Jandy controller. What should I do to get these running again. Also, interested in the Yard lighting features. Maybe getting the brighter LED lighted fiber one for the Pool lights. Also, I am in Walnut Creek, Ca. Don't know if you have an installer in the area.

Hi, Paul. To get your existing illuminators working again, you should have a technician out to see what's going on. It could be a simple fix or they will just need to be replaced. You can replace it with this LED illuminator. We do not recommend technicians, however, you can contact Impact Lighting at 1.800.507.5714 for recommendations.

The illuminator is not changing color - how do you fix so it rotates thru the colors

Hi Craig.  Have you tried to advance through the color programs by toggling the ON/OFF switch?  The programs are  Blue/White/Cyan/Green/Magenta/Red/Gold/Smooth Color Cycle Through All Colors.  If that does not work, you may need to contact a technician to be sure the power supply is working or the wiring has not been compromised.  You can contact Impact Lighting at 1.800.507.5714 if you are still under warranty.
