This motor states it replaces the 5kcr39SN2818AX, however that motor is 1 HP and this one is only 1/2 HP. Will it be inferior or less powerful? Is there another motor that is 1 HP that could replace my current one?

Hello, there are definitely some differences between this motor and the Motor 56j Thrd Full 1hp (b128). The 1HP version has a model #5KCR39SN2818X (missing the "A") and it has a threaded shaft. The 1/2HP version has what is called a keyed shaft. The threaded shaft allows the impeller to be screwed on directly to the shaft, while the keyed version has a screw that goes through the center of the impeller and is attached to the end of the shaft. You may want to remove your current motor to verify which version you have.
