How is this chlorinator connected to 1 1/2" plumbing? Must it be connected to PVC pipes or can 1 1/2" hoses be fitted and clamped over the input and output ports?

The unions on this chlorinator allow for the hoses to be fitted and clamped over the input and output ports.

How does the lid attach. Does it screw on. I have the Hayward chlorinate and it takes two men and a mule to screw of the cap

I purchased the Hydrotools Swimline Automatic Chlorine Feeder #8750. I like the product but approximately every other time the O ring streches out and I have to purchase a new one. I know this should not happen. Please tell me what to do to alleviate the problem.before I get upset. Thank you

Hi Lynne, You want to make sure that a silicone base lubricant is used on the o-ring when the new o-rings are being installed.

I installed this chlorinator in early May and it worked flawlessly right through October. The construction appears to be of high quality and I couldn't justify the extra cost for the Hayward version. The O ring was a little weathered after the season ended but these can be purchased at any hardware store.

Cons: o-ring on drain plug
The only problem is the drain plug o-ring will stretch if plug is installed to tight. I really like the cleaner sitting on ground next to filter instead of in line with chance of breaking lines loose when opening top every week.

Nice and big. Should serve my 16X32 AG well. Came with good assortment of fittings - nice touch. Unit arrived quickly. Locking tab on cover lock came broken, but I can live with that.
