AquaLuster is formulated to offer tremendous advantages while complying with strict environmental and state VOC regulations. This acrylic coating can topcoat virtually all types of coatings and damp surfaces that traditional solvent based paints like chlorinated and synthetic rubbers do not.
This versatile new paint is easy to apply and lasts longer then ruber based paints.
Due to its negative environmental impact, chlorinated rubber based paint is being phased out across the country. Aqua Luster™ has been formulated to give a superior coating and is also environmentally friendly. Aqua Luster™ outlasts “rubber base" paints and cleans up with soap and water, not hazardous thinners. Two coats of Aqua Luster™ will last up to four years. Not only is the paint long lasting, but due to its excellent coating proprieties, Aqua Luster™ will cover up to 250 feet per pail more than rubber base paint.
Aqua Luster™ dries to a beautiful high gloss finish that is stain resistant and easy to clean. Aqua Luster™ can be used to recoat all chlorinated and synthetic rubber as well as water based acrylic paints. It can be applied on bare concrete or plaster without a primer and can even be successfully applied on damp surfaces.

The NA641 AquaLuster Acrylic Paint - Dawn Blue is formulated for pools only. Also, it cannot be used on fiber glass surfaces.

I have an inground pool that has been painted Ramuc Type A chlorinated rubber paint. However, that paint is no longer legal where I live. Can I paint over the Type A paint with the Aqualuster?

I want to coat a pool that is old, but in very good condition, and has never been coated before. It has a very clean, raw concrete surface. Do you recommend the Aqualuster Acrylic?

We would recommend EP HiBuild Epoxy over a rough concrete surface. We also suggest preparing the surface with Surface Clean and Prep Solution.

My in ground pool needs reprinting can I use aqualuster acrylic paint to repaint it. I do not know what typed of paint was used before.

Hi Marlan, You will first need to determine what paint was previously used. You can follow the instruction in our How to Select the Proper Paint for Your Pool guide. If you don't know then you will need to remove the paint from off of the surface in order repaint your pool with this paint.

Pros: The finish
Cons: The amount of time it lasts compared to epoxy base
This has been the best product for the type of paint it is. We preferred not to use a respirator etc to put on paint etc with the epoxy type. It has a nice finish and hopefully it will last for a few years.

I chose this product to repaint a one year old epoxy paint that was beginning to crack in several places because of weak underlying plaster. The paint went on easily and covered well. It dries quickly and it is easy to clean up after the job. The paint has not been down long enough to judge its durability/longevity.
