We purchased a cover but there is no instructions as to wether the cover is to extend over the edge of the pool or lay flat on the water

The solar cover is designed to be cut-to-fit if needed and placed on the surface of the pool water. You may view our How To Install An In Ground Pool Solar Cover Reel it will provide a sample image of how they should rest.

Hola, Patrick. No tenemos una cubierta de 12 'x 40' disponible. Tenemos el Manta solar azul en el suelo, 20 'x 40' pies, rect. Cubierta: NS440 que se puede cortar para adaptarse a una piscina de 12 'x 40'.

Bubble wrap cover for indoor spa to lay on water to keep heat in and dirt out. No problems, substantial thickness, easy to cut to shape.
