The 2004 model has a strand capacity of 400 while the 6004 will hold 450 fiber optic strands.  The 6004 has a metal halide lamp that is rated at an average of 6000 hours.  The quartz-halogen lamp inside the 2004 is rated at 400-700 hours average.  The 6004 model is more energy efficient than the 2004 and consumes less power.

Hi Jimmy, The "Auto Sync" allows you to connect more than 1 illuminator together so that the colors are synced.

I have a fiber optic light with a color wheel so the light changes color. This light was installed back in 2004 when the in ground fiberglass pool was installed. I have been disappointed in this light because it is not very bright at all and the light end in the pool is about 2 to three inches in diameter. The pool is not a big pool, its just a play pool but I was wondering how I might be able to make it brighter in my pool.

Hi, Chris. Over time the light can appear dimmed if the glass or the fibers has built up on them restricting the light to pass through. You can try clean the lens within the illuminator or re-porting the cable to the illuminator.  You can also convert your system to LED using the PT-6000 Lighting Kits
