Flo Control check valve prevents backflow to protect sensitive equipment from chemical damage.
True union design allows the valve to be disassembled by unscrewing the in-line nuts, leaving the tail pieces cemented to the pipe. The valve body can be removed for visual inspection, repair, or cleaning, making it easy to change the body or spring tension.

Does this item come with a warranty? Is there easy access for cleaning?

Flo Control model 1700C15 has a one year warranty. This valve can be cleaned easily by removing the valve body from the unions.

I'm losing my prime on pump. How far from the suction side inlet should I place a check valve? Most of the line is under concrete, I only have about a foot of line to access. Will that work?

Hello Bill - The check valve can be installed within a few inches of the intake of the pump. A foot of pipe will be sufficient for the check valve install.

Not to be used before an automatic chlorinator. The rubber O-ring that is internal to the check valve and the O-ring that is in the union that goes to the automatic chlorinator deteriorate, gets hard and brittle, then start to crumble from the chlorine. I installed mine between the water heater and the chlorinator and they only lasted one season. You can replace the O-ring in the union but the internal O-ring that is used as a seal when the valve is spring closed cannot be replaced. You have to buy a new check valve.

No good will not work with chlorine. Chlorine destroys the rubber seals very quickly. I gave them a couple tries and all of them failed

Great check valve...no chlorine can backflow to your multiport or filter when the pump shuts off. Being clear is also a huge advantage so you can see if anything gets into the check valve on the inflow side. The fact that you can then remove the valve and eliminate any foreign material because of the unions makes this the best check valve we have ever had. Extremely sturdy and well built. Highest recommendation.

The check valve arrived within 5 days. I had already previously purchased a check valve to put in line, but this one I thought would be better as it had the unions on each end thus allowing me more flexibility on installing it.

I used this as a check valve to protect my pool heater from an in line chlorinator. It's not the one recommended by the manufacturer of the chlorinator(Rainbow), but theirs wasn't built with the screw on unions. This made it really easy to install the chlorinator, and will make any future repairs equally easy.

Pros: I choose this valve because you can see in it, take it apart and clean it, and you can replace it without cutting any pipe.
Cons: The manufacture obviously does not test everyone to make sure the threads are working properly.
I ordered one of these valves and would give it a 5 star. So when I needed another valve I ordered the same one. However the second one did not come with clean threads. I had to take a small tool and clean out the excessive plastic so the connections would not leak. When I called INYO they offered to send me another one but I made this one work. So far so good.
