I have a Hayward NorthStar that I am looking to replace. The only one's I see all have a threaded union connection. Do you still carry the one with the Quad lock?

Unfortunately Hayward discontinued the Quad Lock design on the NorthStar pump models in 2007. The housing on the newer pumps is a threaded design and re-plumbing would be necessary.

Is there a replacement for Hayward pool pump sp4010ns with a variable speed motor? Are the inlet and outlet pipes in the same position or at least close?

Hi Bill - The Northstar pump is being replaced by the Tristar pump which does have a variable speed model. The ports on the Tristar are not in the exact position as the Northstar but they are pretty close. I would check out the TriStar Variable speed pump as it sounds like it will do the trick for you.

What can I do sense the pool motor I have is no longer available.

The replacement motor is still available including parts, not the whole goods. The replacement motor for the SP4010NS is the A.O. Smith 1 HP Full Rated North Star Replacement Motor - SN1102. I recommend the use of the Tune Up Kit Hayward Northstar 4000 Series Pumps (Pre-2003) - GOKIT66 when changing the motor. The Hayward TriStar 1 HP, Energy Efficient, Full Rated Pump - SP3210EE is the replacement pump for your current NorthStar.

Hi, Susie. The TriStar 1.0 HP, Energy Efficient, Full Rated Pump - W3SP3210EE is a suitable replacement for this older NorthStar pump.

great pump and motor that was easy to replace. the motor lasted ten years before it started to act up and as a electrician that replaces outdoor motors all the time this unit lasts and is quiet and powerfull.

Housing is sturdy and delivers great results. A.O. Smith motor is strong, quiet and an energy saver. Pump will deliver many years of dependable service. One draw back, in 2008 Hayward changed connection fittings from quick release nuts, to threaded unions. Need to repblumb if you had an older Northstar installed.

Cons: Big: Make sure you have enough room to install
Was looking to upgrade my pump after 40 years(Had rebuilt the old Hayward a couple times and case was starting to have broken edges). Chose the Northstar series for its newer features. Wanted higher pressure, but learned that would probably blow my lines. Really like this pump.
