For both new pool and aftermarket installations SwimClear™ single element cartridge filters capture more dirt for superior water clarity without the need of supplemental media or backwashing, while the industry’s lowest head loss reduces energy costs. SwimClear™ is also the easiest to service: the Easy-Lok™ ring design, comfort grip handles, and lowest lift height provide fast cleaning and element replacement.
Would 50-60 GPM to little flow for this filter?
Hi, A flow rate of 50-60 gpm would be great for this filter. When the actual flow rate is lower to the max filter's flow rate the filter will perform better and last longer.
I have a 12,000 gallon inground pool with a 1hp pump. What size filter do you recommend?
Hello Kevin - The Hayward C100S would be the correct size for your pump and pool size.
my pool is 18ft x36ft deep end 9ft shallow 4ft i have a 1 and 1half hp pump will the c100s work well in my pool i am replacing my hayward ec65
Hi Wayne, This unit will work good but the C150S will work better. It is always better to go one size up from when getting a filter.
what size pool will this filter accommodate?
I would recommend this filter on pools up to 25,000 gallons.
A C100S Single Element Filter was installed in place of DE filter system. The C100S has no plumbing or valves to accommodate backflushing the tank or pumping down the pool water level in case of rain over flow. Is there something on this unit that I am not aware of -- in Florida it is imperative to have a way to pump down the pool in case of heavy rainfall.
On this model filter there is a drain plug on the bottom side of the unit that you can remove and add a water spicket to. You can then attach a water hose to that and extend that out to where you would like to drain the water.
