will this heater heat a 16x32 6ft 3ft deep pool indoor for propane

This heater is set up for Natural Gas and not Propane for Propane you will require this Trane 250,000, BTU LP Heater, if you are replacing a heater then you will want to make sure that you have adequate size gas pipe for the heater. Page 21 of the Trane Installation Manual gives the gas pipe size requirements. By the way, this heater would be a well-sized heater for your pool size.

After using my Hayward 250K pool heater for 17 years it was time for an upgrade.

Written on 6/8/2017 by Guest

To switch out this new Trane 250K heater it is quite easy for the electrical/gas lines were already in place from the former install of the Hayward 250K heater I installed in 2000. I had to buy new 2 inch to 1 1/2 inc PVC adapters and new 1 1/2 inch PVC piping and glued all of the fittings after purchasing elbows, piping, and quick release fittings. I am installing a new see through 1 1/2 inch check valve before the new Hayward chlorinator leading to the outlet of the pool. This is done to protect the outlet line of the heater ( which connects to the chlorinator ) from getting strong back feeding of chlorine from the chlorinator.

My pool is a 24' above ground pool with 15,000 gallons of water. Many people would say a 250K heater is overkill.... but we swim the first week of June before all of my neighbors in Upstate NY!
