Hi. Yes, this Astrolite Fixture - SP0583L15 is a suitable replacement for the SP-573L unit. You will have to make sure a 15ft cord is long enough.

I needed to replace my Hayward SP-543L light fixture from the early '80s. The SP-543 is no longer produced. INYOPOOLS suggested two options; the Astrolite was one of them. The other was the Duralite. In my case, I had to access the top hole (there are two holes in the mounting metal framework behind the plastic face rim) for proper fitment into my existing niche. This was easily accomplished by slightly elongating the mounting screw access hole in the plastic face rim, which, in turn, allowed me to relocate the mounting screw to the top hole in the metal framework on the light assembly. Perfect fit!

Pros: Bright, easy to install
Ordered this light as a replacement for the same light fixture. Short version is that it is a nice, bright light, first one lasted over 13 yrs, probably would have lasted longer if the guy replacing the liner didn't disassemble the light when he reinstalled it, could have just reinstalled, instead he didn't tighten the clamp around the gasket, it leaked and finally went out, because it sat in water for a while waiting on him to repair, the resin with the electrical parts apparently allowed enough water in to damage it. Ordered and received this new one quickly however it came with a busted bulb, inside box was unopened, the outside shipping box looked like the corners had all been mashed in a little probably from the shipping-handling (UPS), contacted INYOPOOLS same date as delivery, sent pics as requested, they sent out a replacement bulb, received it also very quickly. Thanks. Easy install. Hopefully this one will last as long or longer than the first one.
