I have a Hayward NorthStar that I am looking to replace. The only one's I see all have a threaded union connection. Do you still carry the one with the Quad lock?

Unfortunately Hayward discontinued the Quad Lock design on the NorthStar pump models in 2007. The housing on the newer pumps is a threaded design and re-plumbing would be necessary.

I need to replace the motor on a Hayward Northstar Pump SP4015X20NS. Could you recommend the correct 2HP motor?

I have a Northstar Hayward SP4015X20NS pump and motor. The pump is leaking water from the back and underneath the pump. I tried to find a new one but all sites say it is obsolete. What is a direct replacement I can use? PS My motor is fine, can I just buy the pump>

Hi Jim, There is not a direct replace for the Northstar Pool Pump 2 HP that will match up with the plumbing but performance wise the Hayward TriStar 1-1/2 HP, Energy Efficient, Full Rated Pump will be a suitable replacement. You will have to re-plumb this pump into your set up. You can purchase replacement parts, there is a Northstar 1998-2007 and a Northstar 2008-Current version.

Hello, Jacky, The closest replacement for your SP4015x20ns Northstar Pool Pump 2 HP would be the SP3215X20 Hayward TriStar 2 HP, Max Rated Pump or SP3215EE Hayward TriStar 1-1/2 HP, Energy Efficient, Full Rated Pump. You will have to do some replumbing but they will be the closest in performance to the Northstar.

Hello! The motor on my Northstar SP4015X20NS died and I would like to replace just the motor with either a 2-speed or variable speed motor. Is there a variable speed motor that will work or do you only recommend the Hayward SPX1615Z2MNS 2-speed, 2HP unrated motor you have listed on the parts page. Thanks!

Part number ECM27CU is a great variable speed motor that will fit your Northstar. Is your Northstar before 2007 or after 2007 model, that is going to matter for the shaft seal because the two difference Northstars have two difference shaft seals. You will want to replace the shaft seal when you do the motor installation.

The pump was not working on delivery. Northstar does not seem to be interested to help. Northstar has not answered the claim after one week. "Inyo Pool Products" needs to be more active on following up claims. A customer should not be left between the seller and the manufacturer.

The pump was great; however, evidently Hayward put different fittings on the pump that did not match the ones I had. I had to replumb the fittings on my system. The older fittings seemed to be much better than the new ones. They were easier to remove and install.

I had one of these for ten years and it only died due to our letting the water run low and the pump continued to run all night. This pump is very reliable.

Ordered pump on Tues and received it on the following Monday. I'm in Texas, pump came from Florida. INYOpools employees were knowledgable, helpful, and curtious. Packaged great and brand spankin new. Not one suggestion to improve the service because it was great.

Replaced 6 year old northstar (2hp), this one is so much quieter, not sure if the original was just bad or bearings going bad over the years - much quieter, better pressure. Price on INYO was more than4 $300 cheaper than any pool place around selling it!

Was looking to upgrade my pump after 40 years(Had rebuilt the old Hayward a couple times and case was starting to have broken edges). Chose the Northstar series for its newer features. Wanted higher pressure, but learned that would probably blow my lines. Really like this pump.

great pump and motor that was easy to replace. the motor lasted ten years before it started to act up and as a electrician that replaces outdoor motors all the time this unit lasts and is quiet and powerfull.
