I have a inground pool 32 x 17 about 22,000 gallons, and
currently use a hayward super pump 1 hp. Will this
filter work?

Are there specs on how many microns this filter is rated at? Is there available another filter that won't allow finer particles to pass through?

As a rule, sand filters sift particles ranging from 20 to 40 microns in size. Cartridge filters can sift particles as small as 10 to 20 microns in size. DE filters can sift contaminants as small as 1 to 3 microns in size. This makes DE filtration at least five to six times more efficient than sand filtration systems.

I have the Hayward 175 with double cartridge, My pool is 17,000 gallon, I have 2hp pump that is running through the cartridge. Do I need a double cartridge or will a single one be just fine

Pros: good construction; easy to install
Cons: poor documentation
I had to replace an older unit that began to leak. The new unit is very similar to the old deisign. Fortunately, the plumbing matched so installation was simplified. There is a new gauage and top cover design. There were no installation instructions or an explanation about the new gauage.

Cons: need to use Tru-Blu pipe thread sealant on the threaded pipe connections
Overall this filter case from Hayward is fantastic. It is heavy duty fiberglass enforced plastic with a 10 year warranty, easy open by just unscrewing the top center knob and has a very nice pressure gauge. Just make sure you add Tru-Blu pipe thread sealant on your pipe adapters along with the teflon tape they tell you to use. When I only used the tape, they leaked. Did the connections again with Tru-Blu on the tape as well as the filters threads, and not only do they screw in easier but no leaks. Excellent unit. I wish my pool company would have install this model in the first place instead of the cheap black model. And INYO Pools has the best price around. They beat the others by well over $100 on this unit.
