Do I need to lower the water level below the inlet to install the fixture?

Yes it is recommended that you lower the level of your water down past the light in order to take the full light fixture out.

I'm getting the Intex 18'x9'x 52" above ground rectangular pool. Would the aquailuminator fit the return line for that pool?

Unfortunately we would not suggest the Aqualuminator for an Intex pool. Pros: Excellent price and quality

This Pentair AGP light is the best I found on the Internet at a great price at INYO POOLS! There are cheaper ones on the market but with reading customer reviews, the cheaper ones had problems and did not last. This one light is good for our AGP 15’x30’ to light it at night. I did the research for you and INYO had best price and free shipping.

Pros: looks great, fairly easy to install
Cons: some leaking at fitting to hoses but easily repaired
It was a fathers day gift for my husband but as soon as it arrived we put it in the pool. It makes our pool look so nice and it is getting compliments from everyone who sees it. Our pool is not new so the installation was tricky with the water in the pool. The directions were a little confusing because there was not a parts list with pictures to identify the things. We love it tho. We are concerned about what to do if the bulb burns out. Will we have to buy a whole new light?
