I bought 78421100 last summer as a replacement for then light in my pool. It does not exactly fit the external trim piece on my niche (the distance between the clip and the retaining screw hole is just a bit too large). Do you sell a ring for inside the liner of my pool that mates with the light without buying a whole new niche?

my existing light is this size; it mounts with a single bolt at dead center, top. does this unit mount the same way? thanks

Hello Herb, There are a few different light that have center single bolt style hook in, Pool Astrolite 120V 300W 15 Ft Cord SS - Limited Qty. - SP0582SL15, and the one you chose Pool Amerlite 300 Watt 15 Ft Cord 120 Volt - 78421100. There are others on lighting page.

Does this require an adapter to replace an American Products R-400 BC 400 120 Volt wet niche type in-pool light?

Hi Matthew, No if you currently have an American Products light then this light would replace your current light without needing an adapter ring.

Screwdriver, Pliers, string to fish new wire back to junction
This seemed like it should have been harder, but honestly, it took less than 30 min and it was super simple. Removed the screw holding the old one in, disconnected the wire and the junction, hocked a string onto the old wire and pulled the wire back through with the string, connected the new wire to the string, and pulled it back through to the junction. Connected up the light in the junction and screwed the new unit in place. Crazy simple and works GREAT.
