How do you set the system to vacuum the above ground pool?

Hi, Once the pump is connected to the suction and pressure side of the pool you can then connect your vacuum hose to the skimmer and begin vacuuming the pool.You can read our "Vacuuming Your Pool" guide.

what is the max flo rate (GPM) of this filter

Hi Mike, The flow rate will be based on the "feet of head," once you calculate the feet of head use the Hi-Flo Performance Curve to determine GPM.

This says side discharge but it looks like it is on the top. Can you explain?

Hi, Clint. This pump is considered a side discharge because even though the discharge is located on the top it is not centered like the intake but off to the side.
