Super Pump SP1600X- Series Drive Train UpGrade Kit 3/4 HP - SPX2605CKIT
For pumps with an "SP1600X-" part number (manufactured before 1983), the use of these Drive Train Upgrade Kit will upgrade the old pump to the current "SP2600X-" series. This will improve GPM, reduce noise and provide slightly better energy efficiencies.

How hard is this to install? Are any special tools needed?? If the pump is hard starting is it usually the pump or the motor?

Hi Rich, This is not too difficult to install and we do have a video which will help with the install. Normally the motor is the issue if it having a hard time starting up. Could you send us a few photos of your pump and motor? Please take a close up shot of the motor label as well as a wide shot of the complete pump to include the pipes going in and out of the pump. If you have a Hayward Super Pump using the c48k2n143b1 motor then this is not the correct kit. You will need this 1 HP Super Pump Drive Train Kit

This is confusing. Is this kit for an SP1600 or SP2605X7 3/4hp pump?

Hi Allen, it is a bit confusing. The Super Pump SP1600X- Series Drive Train UpGrade Kit is made for a Hayward Super Pump whose model number begins with SP1600x; the Super Pumps with an SP2600x model number already have the "updated" drive in it which helps improve GPM, reduce noise and provide slightly better energy efficiencies. Your SP2605X7 pump had the updated drive installed at the factory.
