Hello, The CFR/EF Lower Tank Body is compatible with the NFC1495 150 Sq. Ft. and NFC1490 100 Sq. Ft. cartridges. You will need to review the model number of your current filter to determine which cartridge fits your system.

I believe this is the part I need. But I believe I use a filter that says 9899 or 9699 on it. Does that make sense.

Hi, The 100,150 sq.ft. 2" Conn. Body (42289405R000) does use the Jacuzzi CFR 100 Generic Cartridge (C-9699).

Can you interchange a cfr 100 pool tank body with a smaller one?

Hello, if you are looking to go to a smaller cartridge filter, I would recommend getting a whole new system. If you go down in tank size, you will also have to change the lid and manifold.
