Product Description

Bracket With Black Toggle Switch - 17590450

Toggle Switch Wiring Instructions :

230 VAC Wiring
As you know in a 230 VAC configuration there is no "Neutral" or sometimes called a "Common" wire. Both of the "Supply" or "Source" wires carry voltage. Actually 115 VAC each, Hence 230 VAC. But remember that the two 115 VAC wires are 180 degrees "Out of Phase". Also explained in "The Manual"

One of the supply wires is connected to the L2 connection of the pump. The other supply wire is toggled between the low and high speed connection on the Pump to change speeds and is controlled by whatever, IntelliTouch, Intermatic.................In fact you could accomplish this with two toggle switches, or two relays :)

115 VAC wiring
Every thing is the same EXCEPT, The second supply wire is the "Neutral" or "Common" wire. We only have one 115 VAC supply wire.

I bought this switch and a Century B2977 motor. Do I need to buy some kind of attachment or cover as well because I don’t see how this attaches to the motor?

Hi, Erik. It appears that the motor design has changed, you will need to return the Bracket Toggle Switch - 17590450 and purchase the Canopy Toggle Switch - 2512558-001.

1. Don't make your own switch. Use this one because it is very tight and placed properly. Turn off power. Take off the back plate.
2. Connect 1st leg to the top blade connector.
3. Cut capped end of black wire coming off the switch and crimp a male blade connector.
4. Connect ground to the green screw.
5. Screw plate back on.. Connect ground lug.
