I picked up an old Hayward S244S and I measured the outside threading of the bulkhead fittings at near 3" which implies to me that I have 2-1/2" bulkhead fittings. However, I'm only aware of 1-1/2" and 2" VariFlo control valve assemblies. What size are these? I'd be happy converting to 2" bulkheads.

Hayward Pro Series - Side Mount Sand Filter The Bulkhead Fitting SX244PX replaces the original bulkhead fitting after 1996. The SX244 PX fitting is compatible with the Backwash Valve for 2" Side Mount installation. Please review the dimension information in the Details/Product Description. Backwash Valve The Bulkhead Fitting SX244PX is compatible with the 2" Variflo Multiport Valve Assembly.
