Floating Wear Ring - 17500-0004
Hi - I’m looking at replacing part #8 - floating seal ring for a flotec FP6121-01 1 HP pump. It powers our 3,500 gallon tank water fall and pond aireator.
I just bought a new trap filter, and then discovered this floating ring busted, when troubleshooting poor water flow.
Is there any other parts that should be replaced with this part (a kit perhaps). The pump is on a timer and runs 4 hours twice a day.

What does a floating wear ring do?

The purpose of a wear ring is to act as an extension of the impeller tip to ensure a seal between the impeller and diffuser. The centrifugal force of the impeller forces the wear ring to affix to the diffuser to ensure an even tighter vacuum for priming and pumping.
