my opening is 31/2 inches not 4 and has no holes for screws, lid would have to just fit in opening?

Excellent, The grate would most likely have some type on part number stamped on it somewhere. You may need to remove it to locate the information we would need to assist you.

Can we get the screws that fit this grate with the order? Do they have a separate part number. Couldn't find them at Home Depot, Lowes, Ace, local hardware stores ...
