Hi, The 3HP Relay (R0658100) will not work with a 2 HP pump/motor.

what is this used for? and can I return it? I do not remember when I bought this or what it is for. thank you.

It's for a Jandy Aquaswitch control board. It can be returned if it's within the 30 day window and unused.

Aqualink rs8 with a 2hp pump. Pump will not turn off even when filter pump button pressed, what relay do I need?

Hi, Trent. If you have a single speed pump, you will need this Relay - R0658100 or Item # 6796 if you have a dual speed pump.
