What is the purpose of this gasket?

Hello Joe. The purpose of this gasket is when you are re-assembling the grids it holds them in place while you work the manifold on. While not absolutely necessary, it does come in quite handy. This video shows the use of it. Please click HERE.

Great idea for those who struggle with reassembling the individual filter grids back into the completed assembly. Also holds the assembly in place while reattaching the manifold,,!
