Are the unions made of PVC? I noticed they are black and was curious if they were constructed of ABS? Can I glue the 1 1/2" schedule 40 pvc into the fitting with blue pvc glue?

Hi Pat, The sp1500unpak2c is made out of ABS. If you are gluing pvc to abs then the preferred glue is ABS to PVC transitional cement. If you do a search on Google for "ABS to PVC transitional cement" you will find a product by Weldon as well as Oatey. You should be able to find these at your local hardware store. I personally have always used pvc glue when gluing pvc to abs and have not had issues but ideally you would use the ABS to PVC transitional cement.
