We would like to install a spring loaded weir instead of the old Equator weir similar to part 4070-06, because this weir tends to become loose after some time and the weir keeps popping off. Can you tell me how this will be fixed at the wall of the skimmerl with no counterparts to keep it inplace?

The correct spring loaded weir for an Equator skimmer would be Swimquip Weir 8 3/8in (r240067) 4202-10, the way it works is once you pull the pins, it releases bars from each side. The bars are tension loaded so it is pretty much physically impossible to get those bars to release and go back inside the tube on top of the skimmer.
