Service Factor(SF) is a multiplier that when multiplied by the horsepower of the motor indicates the total permissible horsepower loading that may be carried when the motor is operating at rated voltage and frequency. The most important thing to remember when replacing a motor is that the replacement motor's horsepower times its service factor must be equal to or greater than the original motor's horsepower times its service factor. The Service Factor rating can be found on the motor label. See Step 4 of our How to Read a Pool Motor Label guide.

Hi. The Service Factor is 1.0, Frame 48Y, Type B, and HP 1/3.

  Thanks! I'm looking to replace an old motor: 1.3 SF, 1/3 HP, 56Y/48Y, 1725 RPM, 115V. I was hoping this item would match; however, the service factor seems a little too low. Can you suggest a more suitable motor?

    If you can provide the existing  MOD, PART, or CAT number of the motor, I can look for a replacement if available.

        Hello, this model motor is not coming up with any results however if you can please provide an image of the front pump wet end housing and its label displaying the model number then we still may be able to confirm a replacement motor. Also, if possible please provide the impeller and or diffuser part numbers which should be molded on those parts themselves as those may serve as another confirmation clue.
