What is the purpose of this upgrade kit? My old controller contained this upgrade kit but the new one I purchased did not contain this upgrade kit.

A feature of the DIG-220 controller is that it is capable of controlling the primary pool pump run time if so desired. For years AutoPilot pre-installed a relay allowing for this function. However they have since stopped pre-installing the relay. Now part number APK0004 must be purchased separately.
