Hi Randy, You will need the Top Manifold Assy (CX3030C) or Top Manifold Assy (CX5030C) for the Hayward SwimClear C2030, C3030, C4030, C5030 Cartridge Filter depending on model you have.

Will this work for the bottom manifold for a Hayward 550 filter system?

The Hayward C-550 doesn't have a manifold. That manifold (25357-750-000) goes to the Hayward Super Star Clear or the Hayward Swim Clear.

This is the correct bottom manifold for the Hayward C2020/2025, yes? The original has sprung several leaks and if this one is less robust, I'm wondering if I should go with an OEM part.

Hello John, there are some subtle differences between generic and OEM, but if you are looking for a thicker type I would go with Manifold, Bottom Collector (cx3000c).
