Do I need to purchase anything else to use this ladder - such as something to go on the bottom of the pool to protect the linier?

Whenver using a ladder with a vinyl liner we would strongly recommend our ladder pad here http://www.inyopools.com/Products/00101347003330.htm

What is the differences between these two pool ladders? (6000B & 6100B) Does the extension kit add another step to the top of the ladders or just more pole? Which one of the two is the most stable? I need to clear a 56" wall and attach the flange to a 58 1/2 high pool deck. Will one or both of these meet the need?

Both ladders would be a good choice, the 6100b is 16" wide and does not have a top platform, the 6000b is 18" wide and has a top platform so it's a stronger ladder. Both ladders would need an extension kit and the kits include an extra step. You may view or purchase the 6100B, 6000B or extension kits here http://www.inyopools.com/ladders.aspx

We had this ladder installed and it's floating. Where do you fill it with water and where are the plugs? Since it's installed, I can't tell. Thanks

Hi Tina, Step #18 of this Pool Ladder Owner's Manual goes into great detail on how to fill the ladder with water.
