Winterizing with the Secret is the safest way to guarantee that your pool water will stay clean and clear during dormant water conditions. Winter Pool Secret is a long lasting clarifier, sequestering agent, and flocculent all in one. When used correctly, Winter Pool Secret will be your pool's best friend during the winter shutdown. Many pools are shutdown for as much as 8 or 9 months per year. Many people use lots of chlorine to winterize. This harms your liner or pool finish, decreases the pliability of the vinyl and can cause staining of precipitated particulates. Stop bleaching your pool liner or pool finish! We want you to use some chlorine or non-chlorine shock for winterizing, but not large dosages that are expensive and can harm your pool.

Add the Winter Pool Secret directly to your pool water or through your skimmer if the filter is still operating .One container of Winter Pool Secret treats up to 15,000 gallons. Simply scoop it out with your hand and deposit it in the water. It will dissolve in a matter of minutes. You will see a little bit of foam when it is introduced. This is normal! If your filter is still hooked up, run it for about 6-8 hours. It's also OK if your filter is already disconnected. Simply mix up the pool water with a vacuum head or other device to assure that the Secret mixes completely into the pool. Many people mix the Secret in a large bucket of pool water, stir it up, and pour it into the pool. Important: You must add chlorine or non-chlorine shock to the pool before or after adding the Winter Pool Secret. This will help activate the product. If your pool water has visible algae or other contaminants in it, you should use a little extra chlorine shock at this time . Use whatever chlorine or non-chlorine shock you may have to do this. It doesn't matter as to the type or brand. Whatever you generally use throughout the season is fine. Add 6 ounces of Winter Pool Secret for every 10K-12.5K of water. You can cover your pool after the Winter Secret is added to the pool and is thoroughly mixed in. This is all you need for chemicals! There is no need to add additional algaecides, clarifiers, rust & scale inhibitors to the pool with the Secret.

If you live in an area of the country where your water can heat up under the pool cover, or you use a mesh cover and won't be opening the pool in early spring, you may wish to add an additional 1/3 dose in the early spring. Peel a portion of the cover back and simply pour the pre-mixed with water Secret into the water. This will help maintain water clarity for an extended time. Winter Pool Secret is especially useful for pools that are covered with a mesh pool cover . You will still get the sediment, however the water will be clear.
