Commonly Used On

When replacing a Jandy PLC700 or PLC1400 salt cell you will use the flow switch from your old salt cell, this flow switch screws into the bottom port of the aftermarket salt cell. You will also use current unions from your Jandy cell that will screw onto this after-market cell. The ports without unions on the 3 port cell measure 3-1/4" in diameter if your ports measure 3" in diameter then you will require the 2-Port After-Market Jandy Cell

Is the salt included with the salt chlorine generator?

No, salt is not included.  You would purchase the salt locally and the quantity will depend upon the number of gallons of water in your pool.  Use a salt that is at least 99.8% pure NaCl. The preferred salt is evaporated, granulated, food quality, and NON-iodized.  Avoid using salt with anti-caking agents like sodium ferrocyanide, also known as yellow YPS (prussiate of soda). These cause some discoloration of fittings and pool surface finishes. DO NOT use calcium chloride.

Does this model allow the slotted Jandy flow and temp transmitter to fit properly

Yes this model does accommodate the Jandy slotted flow and temperature sensor. You will use your current flow sensor and this sensor is placed into the bottom port of the cell, you will then use the union from your current cell to secure the flow sensor to the bottom port of the new cell. The only difference between these and the original is that the power cord is integrated into this cell.

My Jandy 3 port cell this will replace has a plug on the side. I see in the pictures this one does not have the plug. Are they available seperately?

Most likely your Jandy cell has two cables coming out of it. One is called the Power cable and on the Jandy original this plugs into 3 prongs coming off of the salt cell. For the new aftermarket cell you will no longer use your Jandy cable as the aftermarket cell comes with a power supply cable that is integrated directly into the cell and will plug into your power supply. The second cable coming off of your Jandy cell is the flow sensor cable this will come out of the bottom port of the cell. When using this aftermarket cell you will unscrew your the flow sensor from your old Jandy cell and screw that sensor into the new cell.

Does the aftermarket Jandy 3 Port Cell come with unions?
 Reply

No the unions are not included, you would use the unions off of your old Jandy AquaPure salt cell and use those unions on the new cell as they are a perfect match. If for some reason you need new Unions then here are the Jandy AquaPure Replacement Unions.

Does this salt cell come with the flow sensor that comes out of the bottom of current Jandy cell?

No the flow sensor is not included. You will use the Jandy aqua pure flow sensor from your current Jandy salt cell, simply unscrew the flow sensor from the old cell, place the flow sensor in the bottom port of the new salt cell and secure with the union from your old cell.
