Commonly Used On

When replacing a Jandy PLC700 or PLC1400 salt cell you will use the flow switch from your old salt cell, this flow switch screws into the bottom port of the aftermarket salt cell. You will also use current unions from your Jandy cell that will screw onto this after-market cell. The ports without unions on the 3 port cell measure 3-1/4" in diameter if your ports measure 3" in diameter then you will require the 2-Port After-Market Jandy Cell

Is the salt included with the salt chlorine generator?
 Reply

No, salt is not included.  You would purchase the salt locally and the quantity will depend upon the number of gallons of water in your pool.  Use a salt that is at least 99.8% pure NaCl. The preferred salt is evaporated, granulated, food quality, and NON-iodized.  Avoid using salt with anti-caking agents like sodium ferrocyanide, also known as yellow YPS (prussiate of soda). These cause some discoloration of fittings and pool surface finishes. DO NOT use calcium chloride.

Does this model allow the slotted Jandy flow and temp transmitter to fit properly

Yes this model does accommodate the Jandy slotted flow and temperature sensor. You will use your current flow sensor and this sensor is placed into the bottom port of the cell, you will then use the union from your current cell to secure the flow sensor to the bottom port of the new cell. The only difference between these and the original is that the power cord is integrated into this cell.

Can the three contacts that protrude from the original Aqua pure 1400 cell be replaced? If not is the cell recyclable? What is the material used to manufacture the fins?
 Reply

A  Answered on 3/21/2017 by InyoPools Product Specialist Alan M.

The three prongs are not a replaceable part for this cell. I do not believe that the cell is recyclable. you would need to contact the manufacturer directly at 1-800-822-7933 to answer the question on the material the metallic plates are made from.

My Jandy 3 port cell this will replace has a plug on the side. I see in the pictures this one does not have the plug. Are they available seperately?

Most likely your Jandy cell has two cables coming out of it. One is called the Power cable and on the Jandy original this plugs into 3 prongs coming off of the salt cell. For the new aftermarket cell you will no longer use your Jandy cable as the aftermarket cell comes with a power supply cable that is integrated directly into the cell and will plug into your power supply. The second cable coming off of your Jandy cell is the flow sensor cable this will come out of the bottom port of the cell. When using this aftermarket cell you will unscrew your the flow sensor from your old Jandy cell and screw that sensor into the new cell.

Written on 8/8/2017 by Neil D.

1 Turn off Power, 2 Relieve system Pressure, 3 Isolate salt cell to be replace (may be first step dependent on how system is plumbed. 4 Remove sensor cell from old unit. 5 Remove old cell from system. 6 WITHOUT STRESSING THE CONNECTIONS ON THE MOTHER BOARD, disconnect and remove power cable from motherboard control to Jandy saltcell. 7, Install new CompuPool salt cell in system (Note: Inlet is on the power cable end of CompuPool Salt cell), 8 RE--iInstall sensor cell into new unit. 9 Route power cable from salt cell to motherboard. 10. CAREFULLY RECONNECT CABLE PUSH CONNECTORS TO MOTHERBOARD. make sure orientation matches motherboard label (Green to Green/Black and White to Black and White). 11 Un-isolate salt cell in plumbing, 12 re-energize system, and start pumps. 13 Check for leaks at new salt cell, Check flow sensor after five minute run-in to insure system is showing flow and cell is operating. Note: the new cell with the clear bell my actually show some gas being generated almost immediately. Good indicator that cell is functioning properly.
