How is the O Ring in the lid replaced. My lid no longer seals tight and it looks like the o ring is not seated but is crushed? Also, what is the right way to close the lid? Do you screw the big lid tight and then tighten the smaller inside star part of the lid or what? I just can't get it to seal anymore?

The o-ring is replaced by removing the large plastic screw in the center of the lid. Be careful, as this does get brittle over time. Best suggestion is to NOT use a screw driver , but a socket that fits snugly.  Once the screw is removed, the disc inside the lid will come out and the o-ring can be replaced. Make sure to wipe clean all the old lube and then re-apply. When putting it back together, be careful not to over tighten.

You would want to make sure that the whole lid is together and then simply tighten down the ring that holds the star portion in place.
