PureLine Crystal Pure Salt Chlorine Generator PL7702

Crystal Pure Salt System by PureLine

The PureLine Crystal Pure Salt System makes the process of chlorinating the pool a breeze for you. When your pump runs, you will be producing chlorine, ensuring a steady dose into your pool water. The more consistent your chlorine levels are in your pool, the fewer chemicals you will use overall. Free yourself and your pool guests from the itchy, dry feeling of regular chlorine. With a salt water chlorine generator, the water feels smooth and won't leave a white residue on your skin. The Crystal Pure generator cell easily plumbs in-line and has quick disconnect unions for easy access.

Crystal Pure Heavy Duty Vs. Crystal Pure Standard

This year we have added a few new models of Crystal Pure Salt Systems to our lineup and these are labeled as Heavy Duty. The Heavy duty is the same system as the standard but with two main advantages...

  1. The warranty is 3 year on the Heavy Duty Vs. 2 years on the Standard
  2. The cell life on the Heavy Duty is 10,000 hrs. Vs. 7,000 hrs. on the Standard

The extra lifespan on the heavy duty salt cell is due to more Ruthenium coating on the cell plates. Cell life works as follows, say you run your pump 8 hours per day and you set your Crystal Pure to 50% chlorine output then the cell will be running for 4 hrs. per day, thus using up 4 hrs. of cell life per day in this example.

Features:

  • Durable design
  • Max. Chlorine Production Per Day = 1.06 Lbs.
  • Economical to use
  • Simple operation & maintenance
  • Large chlorine capacity
  • Low energy consumption
  • 3 Year warranty
  • Digital display and LED indicators
  • Self-cleaning
  • Adjustable chlorine output
  • Super chlorination mode
  • Water flow detector
  • Low salt and overload indicators
  • High & low temperature protection (working temperature from 50F to140F)

Crystal Pure Optional Add-On Accessory Package

The Crystal Pure Optional Add-On Accessory Package includes several convenient tools for your swimming pool salt system. The package includes a Salt Cell Cleaning Stand, Salt Test Strips, and a Dummy Cell. The Cleaning Stand simplifies cell cleaning and eliminates having to soak the cell in a bucket of muriatic acid solution. Salt Test Strips are used to accurately measure the salt level in your pool. The dummy cell is used during cell cleaning, winter, and spring startup.

Optional Add-On Accessories

Salt Cell Cleaning Stand

This cleaning stand simplifies cell cleaning and eliminates having to soak the cell in a bucket of muriatic acid solution. This Cleaning stand is used for PureLine Crystal Pure salt cells. You should clean your salt cell every 2 months to avoid calcium build up on your salt cell. By cleaning your salt cell regularly you will prolong the life of the cell. Also if you get too much calcium build up on the salt cell then the system will stop producing chlorine, regular cleanings ensure that your salt system will not stop producing chlorine.

Salt Test Strips

Salt Test Strips are used to accurately measure the salt level in your pool. The Crystal Pure Salt System does measure and give salt readout levels on the power supply however it is nice to have salt test strips upon startup of your Salt System. During startup up you will use your test strips to make sure that you add the correct amount of salt to your pool, it is also good to be able to compare the salt readings on the power supply to those of the salt test strips to make sure the system is giving accurate salt readings.

Straight Pipe Place Holder - Dummy Cell

This straight pipe holder also called a dummy cell is used for several scenarios which we have listed below.

Winter: It is suggested that in areas of the country that you close your pool for the winter that you replace your normal cell with this dummy cell, the reason being is that the standard cell is expensive and by removing the standard cell you will prolong the cell's life.

Cell Cleaning: When you remove your normal cell for cleaning it is nice to have the dummy cell as you can replace the normal cell with the dummy cell so you continue to filter your pool while you clean your cell.

Spring Start-Up: The dummy cell is great to use during spring start up as quite often the pool can be quite dirty and you don't want large dirt and debris to get lodged in your standard salt cell.

 Reply

A  Answered on 6/26/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Ken. Yes, this system will be able to effective chlorinate a 15K gallon pool. However, the 40K system will be even more efficient.

How does this system handle hard water situations? Pool will be a 18' round by 50" depth.
 Reply

A  Answered on 6/10/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi John, for pools with very hard water the salt system will work fine but you may see calcium build up on the salt cell more often meaning you may have to clean your salt cell more frequently. We would suggest monitoring your Calcium Saturation Index (CSI) by following the steps laid out in this Article on Calcium Saturation Index (CSI) for Swimming Pools

I have an 8000 gall0nin ground pool, would I use the 20k system? Also I see one of the 20k says LT what does that mean. Thanks in advance

A  Answered on 5/5/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Joe S.

Y Chris, yes you would use either the 20k or 40k unit. The difference between the HD and the LT is the HD has a longer warranty.

Can you mount a salt cell in a vertical line? My heater and returns are only a foot away and the only way I can add more PVC is to go up and back down.

Hi Mark, Yes you can mount this salt cell in the vertical position.

I have a 28 ft round above ground that has been totally recessed. Approximately 18k gallons, we are having nitrate problems, we have drained and refilled once, using carbon filters during the refill process. Still have nitrates. 2 questions, best way to reduce nitrates and how will nitrates affect the salt cell. Obviously, I would go with the 40k HD system, but how much salt does this problem cause the system to use.
 Reply

A  Answered on 3/21/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Greg. Nitrates can be found in a variety of places and products including fertilizers, plants etc. You can try to remove plants near your pool, and eliminate runoff. High nitrates can affect the effectiveness of the chlorine produced by the system.

Hi, There is not a generic cell available. This system was designed after the Hayward system, however, the parts are interchangeable.

 Reply

A  Answered on 2/11/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Yes, you can have a salt water system with these units. Please consider adding a check valve after the heat pump to prevent backflow of chlorinated water into the unit.

Can this be used with an aboveground pool?
 Reply

A  Answered on 2/11/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Richie, Yes this salt system could be used on an above ground pool. If you wanted to add a standard 3 prong 115V plug to the system then I would suggest this 3 Prong Cord 115V.

Probably a dumb question, but does it matter what "angle" the cell is installed at? That is, can it be installed at a say a 45 degree upward angle? That would be my only option without doing some serious re-piping to make room (see picture). Thank you.

 Reply

A  Answered on 1/29/2019 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, MarcoBay. The cell can be installed at that angle; however, the flow switch assembly will have to be installed horizontally.

I need to know what the factory placement is for the K3 jumper as I accidentally knocked it off during wiring. Picture attached. Can anyone with this system please take a picture of this jumper and post? Or MAAAYBE can someone at InYo open a new one and snap an image? I don't want to blow up a brand new unit as I do not know what this jumper is for. Thank you in advance!

Hello, The K3 jumper would be positioned so that it is sitting on the top 2 pins.

My parents have an above ground pool that holds 19k gallons and they due to maintenance of a chlorine pool they are looking at something easier. Would you recommend the salt water pool and a 20 or 40 pump?
 Reply

A  Answered on 10/18/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Absolutely, a salt system would be a great way to assist with sanitizing maintenance, and for a 20k gallon pool, it would be wise to use a 40k model.

In reading through the "How to" section, it was mentioned that chlorine would not be generated if the water is too warm or too cold. Our pool runs from a low of 86 deg in the winter to around 96 deg in the heat of summer. Is this a problem?
 Reply

A  Answered on 8/31/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Lennox H.

Hi, Tom. Your pool temp of 86-96 degrees will not be an issue. This unit will operate between 51-149 degrees.

I have a Aqua-trol-HP salt system. My check salt and inspect cell light keeps coming on. I know I have enough salt. But when they come on my salt generator light goes out. Does this mean , it is not generating? If so, what could cause this and what is the remedy?
 Reply

A  Answered on 7/25/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Joe S.

hen these lights flash, the cell reports salt levels between 2400-2700ppm; this does not affect chlorine production. When these LEDs are ON solid, the cell reports 2300ppm or less and chlorine production is suspended. The TurboCell must be clean in order to report accurate salt readings. IF the cell looks like the image on the left, clean the cell. IF cell is clean, proceed to step 1C. The system should be reading salt within 500ppm of an independent test. The cleanliness of the TurboCell plays a major role in the AquaRite’s ability to report salt levels accurately.

You will not need anything else for setting up your salt system besides what comes with it. If you click here and view page for you can see a chart which will advise how much salt you will need to add for startup.

 Reply

A  Answered on 4/10/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Hector F.

Yes, and that is that the system would not be pushed to near its maximum capacity in order to keep the pool chlorinated. With your sized swimming pool, we recommend using the 40k model unit.

17K volumn in ground pool in Phoenix AZ. Would you recommend the 20K or 40K unit?
 Reply

A  Answered on 3/4/2018 by InyoPools Product Specialist Patrick P.

Hi Todd, we would suggest the larger 40,000 gallon unit as it will allow you to crank up the chlorine production if you need it. Also you will get a much longer life out of your salt cell since the majority of the time he will be running at a pretty low chlorine production.
