Why? The specs list is as being OK for vinyl. I have an above ground, knockdown, vinyl pool with rounded corners (Splash brand) that's up all the time. I've used an Aquabug for years. Thanks.

1.) Is the hose that comes with it all in lengths or all in one piece. 2.) Can the regular hose we use for our manual cleaning be used? 3.) Does the discharge go into the filter or is it self contained?

Hi Francis, The hose that comes with the R2 cleaner comes in 4' sections. The regular hose for manual cleaning cannot be used with this cleaner. The dirt and debris which is sucked up by the cleaner goes back to your pool pump basket and the smaller debris would go to your pool filter.

I bought the unit, followed the direction form the website and manual and let it go!
It works until the filter gets dirty for me about an hour then it needs to have the suction increased. After 1 week I had to take it apart and tighten a screw to keep it from running in circles. It's great at picking up debris for sure though it needs more attention then I hoped. It's cheap and this is probably why.

This cleaner should not be used with a VSP. I have a PL 2605 and when the pump drops to the second level the cleaner still has a vacuum but the wheels stop turning. Now I have a nice stretch in the vinyl on the side of my pool. The unit stuck to the vinyl and the wheels stopped. I have no idea how long it was stuck. It was long enough to do some damage. This unit also gets stuck on its side often. If you are looking for a cleaner that you have to stand by the pool and watch, this is the product for you.

This cleaner gets stuck at the slope of the wall and the wheels spin both backwards and forward directions. Despite how much you adjust the hose float it seems like it lacks the power to pull 30 feet of water filled vacuum hose. If my 2.7HP V-Green pump is not enough to power this unit, then I have no idea what is. This is my second cleaner after a Polaris robotic cleaner......nothing will get in the corners except YOU.
