Pros: Easy to install
Cons: Only two on/off settings

The electronic timer was better because you could set it to come on up to five times a day.

Pros: Many options for time setting; freeze protection

This timer is a great addition to my pool pump setup. I never have to worry when the temp drops below freezing, and the time settings are easy and effective.
