Amerlite Replacement LED won't light

I have an Amerlite pool light. It had an R-40 bulb of unknown wattage. I purchased a PL5809 LED to replace it. Installed it but it won’t light. The r-40 bulb works. The LED works in an indoor lamp. Cleaned the socket on the pool lamp. Is thsi 35 watt LED to high a power? Other ideas

Hello Jliddil - Is your old R-40 bulb 12v or 120v?

It is a 12V it turns out. Doh.

Already done that and order the  12V version. Great customer service
