Capacitor

I have replaced both run and start capacitors for my pool motor, but I haven’t replaced the run capacitor yet, because its yet recieved. Once installed, is it guaranteed to start? I have a 1 year old Century Model:USQ1202 . When a rock got stock inside the spining piece made so much noise till it stopped. I replace the start capacitor but still making a humming noise and does not turn over. So now I will replace the run capacitor tomorrow. Do you think it will start or do I need a new $200 motor?

It’s hard to guarantee that the run capacitor will correct the problem. You can use a multimeter to test the existing run capacitor. Testing it will tell you if it is good or bad. Check out our article titled “How to Test a Pool Pump Capacitor”.
