Changing pool filter

I bought a house with a very old stainless steel pool filter. The system is a mess and most of the above ground pieces need to be replaced. I can’t make out much on the deteriorated sticker but I think it is an American Titan with a 48square foot filter. I am planning on changing it out for a sand filter but I can’t figure out what size I need. Are you able to help me out. I have attached a picture of the pump.

We’d be glad to assist you. What is the size of the pool?

I’m not sure. It’s not a simple shape to figure calculate from. I have estimated 10,000. All my chemical adjustments have been made with that number and they seem to work as expected.

I’d recommend the Waterway Carefree model FS02629. That is a 26" sand filter. It is a little oversized for a 10k gallon pool but it can handle the flow from your pump.
