Can I convert my 2 pump system? I currently am running a filter pump and a second piggyback pump for the sweeper, and I’d like to buy just one, quieter, variable-speed pump that will also run my sweeper and eliminate the need for 2 loud pumps early in the mornings. Is that possible?
Jeff - If you want to eliminate the booster pump, we recommend switching to a pressure side cleaner like the Polaris 360 or the Pentair Legend II. Those two pressure side cleaners work at lower PSI ratings (17-19). You could operate these with a variable speed pump.
The traditional pressure side cleaners like the Polaris 180, 280, 380 require a higher PSI (30-45). The variable speed pumps do not create that type of PSI. We wouldn’t recommend eliminating the booster pump if you plan on using your current pressure cleaner.
