Correct motor and go kit

Hello All

My current pool motor went out. Model #159988 Century Centurion. It’s currently hooked up to a Hayward super pump II (I believe) . I have 2 questions

  1. did I select the correct Motor and go kit replacement part?

  2. Is the combo below too much power? The below combo is being used to cover a 22k gal rectangular in ground pool. (15ft x 30 ft : 6.5 avg depth) The previous owner filled the bottom of the pool skimmer with concrete. Not sure as to why but it’s possible the pvc plumbing broke underground. Currently only using pool basket skimmer and pump basket as catches.

Tune Up Kit Hayward Super II - GOKIT2

Thanks

Hello Aarona - The B130 is the correct replacement for the Century model 159988. The GOKIT2 is the correct kit if you have the Hayward Super II pump.

It’s hard to say for sure if the 2HP full rated motor is too much for your pool. The pool builder may have used a higher HP because the feet of head is high on your pool. If you want to calculate your feet of head, we can determine if you’d be ok with a lower HP. Below are a couple guides that can help you calculate the feet of head.
