Correct pipe size

For a 24’ x 54" round above ground pool, would 2" plumbing pipes be overkill, is 1.5" sufficient?

1.5" pipe is the standard for above ground pools and is sufficient for a pool that size. Most above ground pool equipment only comes in 1.5" so using the larger pipe would be a waste.
