what causes water to run out the backwash hose when in filter cycle

Hello Darlin2014 - That is usually the sign of a bad spider gasket. Is there a part number on the filter valve?

Check out our article titled “Why Is My Multiport Valve Leaking”.

yes there is, but the model it shows me dosen’t show a spider gasket, but an O-ring, and there’s no sign of an O-ring on my valve, but it does look like there is a place for one on the valve, so I ordered one…Fingers crossed

Were you able to determine the make and model of the filter valve?

yes, It’s a WC 112-148

There is a spider gasket in that valve. It’s just glued into the bottom of the rotor.

I took mine apart and there is one on there, but the model that pulls up dosen’t show one, so how would i know what size to get

The gasket is not sold separately. You would have to order part number 4679-12.

so I wasted money on the O-ring… You should really consider selling the spider gasket seperately…But thank you for your help…If this dosen’t fix it I will be needing your help again…Thank you again

If it were up to us, we would sell the spider gasket separately. Unfortunately, the manufacturer of that valve does not offer the spider gasket as a separate item.
