My 3/4 HP Hayward Motor on pump burned up . Ineed to replace it .  The old one always ran hot to the touch. I ran it 24/7  If I go to a 1 HP motor will it run cooler to the touch?

No matter the horsepower, pump motors are going to feel hot to the touch. A byproduct of an electric motor is heat, then encase that heat creating motor in a metal cylinder, then put that metal cylinder outside exposed to sunlight and you have a recipe for a very hot potato. But generally, motors are not supposed to be touched, so I would not make that a huge concern.
