DE in Pool

Hi,

I have a  Hayward DE 6020 filter with all new internal parts except the stand pipe which is on order. Replaced the multiport valve.  recently replaced the pump, but the problem existed before,  and I changed the pump for another reason(long story). Still blowing DE in pool.  Had professional out, had good learning session but did not solve the problem, will have him back when I get the stand pipe if that does not work)  No air or suction leaks that I can find.  no leaks in pool.  Any ideas of things that so rarely happen they are not mentioned? Can a filter tank leak with no evidence?(removed and checked and sealed the air release)

Thanks for any ideas

Hello William - We’d be glad to assist you. There are a couple issues that commonly cause DE to enter the pool. One could be the o-ring on top of the standpipe. A small pinch in that o-ring can allow DE to bypass the filter. Another reason could be adding too much DE. A DE6020 requires 7-1/2 pounds.
