Ours is inground pool.We have multiport valve one yr old. We just replaced complete cartridge for filter.Everything up and running but air bubbles coming in pool and appears to be earth as well.
Any ideas…??? I’m running pool on recirculate setting 12/on & 12/off to keep clean.

The air bubbles could be coming from a suction side air leak. The most common cause is a bad pump lid o-ring. Check out the video below on how to check for those leaks.
As far as the DE, the most common cause of powder returning to the pool on a new filter is too much DE. Make sure you are putting in the required amount and not exceeding that amount. Other causes could be a hole in one or more of the grids, a crack in the manifold, or a bad standpipe o-ring. Sometimes the spider gasket in the multiport can get pinched. This happens when the valve is rotated back and forth instead of always going counterclockwise or clockwise. A spider gasket that’s not sitting in the valve properly can allow DE to sneak through.

Still checking . Tied all your suggestions and lubed all o rings etc. Air bubbles still happening. Got to check all pipe fittings to make sure all tighten .
Too much earth I’m sure as I’ve backwashed twice and seems ok now.
Trouble is so much pollen dust settles on bottom ,hard to know what I’m seeing!!!
