I have a Sta-Rite System 3 DE filter that recently started to leak from where the top and bottom housings meet. I replaced the seal that lines the perimeter of the bottom housing, thinking the old one must have degraded, but it made no difference whatsoever. I applied silicon lubricant when I installed it and it appears to be seated properly. I also watched a video suggesting I follow a specific order when tightening the bolts around the outside and use a rubber mallet to gently tap the perimeter while tightening to ensure a proper seal. Again, none of that helped resolved the issue. What am I missing here? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It's been 2 weeks without a comment. Has no one come across this issue before?

This is a good question, having same issue. Some direction on possible ways to diagnose/repair would be great!
