Grayish grit on pool stairs

Morning,

So we are noticing lots of greyish grit on the stairs of our inground pool. What color is the sand in the filter? We had our sand changed in 2017 and water always looks good. Last summer we noticed little or no grit below the other jets, only on the stairs. Is it possible that the grit is from the concrete around the pool?

The color of the sand is typically a light tan color. The grit on the stairs is likely from something around the pool.

Thank you. Do you recommend a cleaner for the sand?

A product called Pool Solutions Sand Aid is a good product. It does a great job at removing oils, lotions, and organic matter from the sand.
